Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. The Rev. Jonathan Sorensen will officiate. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Scheer was cremated according to her wishes.
Mrs. Scheer was born July 22, 1925, in Litchfield to Troy and Hope (Eastbrook) Sheehan. She grew up and received her education in Litchfield, graduating from Litchfield High School in 1943. Following high school, she worked at the Cornhusker Army Ammunition Plant for three years and also taught country school near Broken Bow.
She was united in marriage to Marian "Jack" Nold on Jan. 20, 1950. The couple made their home in Hastings. They later moved to Grand Island, where she worked for Charlotte Eaton at Bosselman and Eaton Cafe for 15 years. She then went to work for Coca-Cola Bottling Company until her retirement. Mr. Nold preceded her in death on July 4, 1963.
She was united in marriage to Harold Scheer on June 20, 1968. The couple made their home in Grand Island. Mr. Scheer preceded her in death on Sept. 17, 1987. In 1999, Frances moved to Chrysalis Retirement Home.
She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral, the Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of America and the Eagle's Women Auxiliary.
Survivors of the immediate family include a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Larry Vesely of Omaha; a stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Ron and Lynda Scheer of Los Angeles, Calif.; granddaughters, Anne LaBarba and Raina (Kevin) Boyum; grandsons, Jeremy Scheer and Dustin (Holly) Vesely and great-grandsons, Tyler and Carter Boyum.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands; three sisters, Donna Sheehan, Wilma Sheehan and Bernice Sheehan; a brother, Roy Sheehan and a infant brother.
