Francis W. Stoulil – age 87, of Pocahontas, passed away Monday, January 14, 2013, at the Pocahontas Community Hospital in Pocahontas, Iowa.

Francis Wesley Stoulil was born November 14, 1925, on the family farm near Havelock, Iowa. He was the son of Wesley and Agnes (Viktora) Stoulil. He attended Havelock High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. On August 16, 1949, Francis married Margaret "Peg" Scott in Pocahontas. The couple settled near Havelock where they farmed and raised their family. In 1988, they retired and moved to Silver Lake. Margaret passed away on January 9, 1994. On December 10, 1994, Francis married Betty (Craig) MacMillan in Weslaco, TX. The couple lived in Davison, MI. In June 2012, Francis returned home to Pocahontas.

Francis was a member of the Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church and the AMVETS. During his farming years, he made much of his own farm equipment. He enjoyed woodworking and playing cards.

Survivors include his wife, Betty of Davison, MI; children, Sue (Doug) Wenell of Laurens; Karen Hauswirth of Havelock; Patti Smith of Gresham, OR; Chuck (Jolene) Stoulil of Spirit Lake; Harry (Rhonda) Stoulil of Pocahontas; Helen (Scott) Poldberg of Platte City, MO; Kenny (LaRae) Stoulil of Havelock; Marv Stoulil of Portland, OR; Nancy (Brian) Darnell of Flagstaff, AZ; and Jim (Lynne) Stoulil of Kansas City, MO; son-in-law, Mike Devine of Fort Dodge; 33 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sisters, Jo (Clete) Peiffer of Twin Lakes and Therese (Chuck) Cunningham of Pocahontas and step-daughters, Annesta (Jesse) Bennett of West Branch, MI; Nola Burchell and Vicki (Larry) Konya all of Davison, MI. Francis was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Margaret "Peg"; daughters, Shirley Devine and Ginny Kinney; brother, Leonard Stoulil; sisters, Mildred Krips and Louise Halder; and sons-in-law, Randy Hauswirth and Charlie Smith.
