Dorothy Geraldine Osborne Thomas, 67 years of age of Grundy, VA, passed away Saturday, October 23, 2004, in the Buchanan General Hospital, Grundy, VA. Born in Buchanan County, April 18,1937, she was the daughter of the late John Larken Osborne and Cansady Duty Osborne. She was of the Christian faith, a homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Virginia Osborne, Lucille Deel and Pauline Thompson.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Franklin Delano Thomas of Grundy, VA. One son, Michael Leon Thomas and wife Charlotte of Grundy, VA. Four sisters, Shirley Gibson of Iaeger, WV, Faye Yates, Trula Yates and Judy Church all of Vansant, VA. One brother, Elmer Osborne of Vansant, VA.
She is also survived by one granddaughter, Rhonda Gail Thomas.
Funeral services for Dorothy Geraldine Osborne Thomas will be conducted Wednesday, October 27, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Donnie Prater and Rev. Larry Hurley officiating. Burial will follow in the Thomas Cemetery on Stone Coal, Grundy, VA.
Active pallbearers will be: John Gibson, Ronnie Adams, Teddy Cline, Tracy Gibson, J.D. Adams, Sonny Charles, Lonnie Yates and Richard Patton.
