Actor, comedian. A native of New York, New York, Allen had a long career of acting and comedy from starring as the "Why Not? Man" in several episodes of the old Tonight Show with Steve Allen from 1958 to 1960, to roles in films like, "The Cotton Club" (1984), as 'Solly', but Allen is best remembered as a voice actor. Allen played the voices of several memorable cartoon characters including, 'Heckle and Jeckle' and 'Deputy Dawg.' Allen passed away in Hendersonville, North Carolina, on November 11, 2004, at the age of 85 of natural causes.
