Mr. Elmer Raymond "Sonny" Neuman, age 83, of West Orange, died Friday, June 1, at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. The family will receive friends for visitation from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 3, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 4, at First United Pentecostal Church in Orange, with the the Rev. Gary Wheeler, pastor, and the Rev. Bobby Edwards, pastor of Eastgate United Pentecostal Church in Vidor, officiating.

Pallbearers will be Larry Hammett, Larry Mayfield, Chad Causey, John Hughes, Connor Neuman and Everette Nation. Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Nation and Travis Odom.

Born in Deweyville on Oct. 2, 1928, Sonny is the son of Elmer D Neuman and Cora (Davenport) Neuman. He was the owner of Cenco Pump Company and had served in the Merchant Marines and the Texas National Guard.

Sonny was a faithful member of First United Pentecostal Church in Orange for 63 years where for over 30 years he served on the Church Board and as Sunday School Superintendent.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son Gary Robert Neuman, a brother, Prentiss Neuman and sister, Joyce (Neuman) Duckworth.

Sonny is survived by his wife of 65 years, Annie Neuman of West Orange; daughter and son-in-law, Gwen and Ed Reed of Orangefield; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Beverly Neuman of Friendswood; grandchildren, Colton, Connor, Mindi and Saffron; great grandchildren, Chase and Sierra; sister, Melva Tompkins of Ponchatoula, LA. and brother, Edward Neuman of Moss Point, MS
