EARL KENNETH WOOD of Orlando, FL - he was the son of Kenneth and Edna Wood. The family moved to Orlando in the 1920s. He was a WWII, U.S. Army veteran and when he returned went to work for the Clerk of the Court for Orange County, first as Assistant Tax Collector, and then was elected in 1964 as the Orange County Tax Collector and was re-elected to 12 consecutive terms for a total of 48 years. He was currently running for his thirteenth consecutive term. Earl was a member of Masonic Lodge #69, the Bahia Shrine and Toastmasters Club. Preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Mary Louise Stallings Wood and sister, Betty W Barnes, he is survived by nephews, Larry Barnes and John Barnes. Visitation will be October 18, 2012 at Bahia Shrine in Orlando and funeral services will be held October 19, 2012 at the First Presbyterian Church of Orlando.
