LEONARD BAKER
LEONARD MARVIN BAKER 58 years of age of Hurley, VA passed away Saturday, February 28, 2004 at his home. Born in Buchanan County March 14, 1945, he was the son of the late Roy Baker and Polly Jane Ratliff Baker. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County, was of the Holiness Faith, a retired coal miner and loved to deer hunt.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.

He is survived by one daughter: Phyllis Jean Baker of Hurley, VA; four sons: Darrell Baker of Grundy, VA, Harold Baker of Newport, TN, Greg Baker and wife Sandra and Roy Baker all of Grundy, VA; two sisters: Pat Ratliff of Stillwater, FL, Ermal Hardin of Hurley, VA; one brother: Ted Baker of Hurley, VA. He is also survived by four granddaughters: Ashton Brianne Baker, Makenzie Jade Baker, Brittany Suzanne Thacker and Megan Denise Baker; seven grandsons: Justin Blake Baker, William Garrison Ivey, Brandon Lee Baker, Cameron Wade Baker, Roy Dalton Baker, Matthew Allen Baker and Thomas Shane Baker.

Funeral services for Leonard Marvin Baker will be held Wednesday, March 3, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at the Kelsa Church of Christ on PawPaw, Hurley, VA with Elder Tommy Conn, Reverends: Hufford Rife and Donnie Prater officiating. Burial will follow in the Baker Family Cemetery at Hurley, VA.

Active Pallbearers will be Joe Conn, Terry Slone, Bobby Slone, Brian Hardin and Jeff Hardin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Jackie Briggs and Hospice and Palliative Care of VA.
