George was known as "Georgie" to his family members who knew him since birth, and as "John" to anyone he met from his mid-teen years onward.

He was a wonderful son, husband, father, brother, and friend.

John was born in Fort Dix, NJ, the eldest of three children in a military family that transferred occasionally during his growing up years. His high school years were spent in North Highlands, CA, where he graduated from Center High School, there playing as quarterback and wide receiver during his Junior and Senior years.

Shortly after graduation, John enlisted in the United States Air Force, entering into a career as a Military Intelligence specialist. He wed his high school sweetheart straight out of Air Force boot camp.

Five years into his military active duty, John was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, at which time he found it necessary to take a medical retirement. Following a long and valiant battle, he passed away, in his Columbus, OH home, at age 25.

John was survived by his wife, daughter, parents, sister, brother, and many relatives and friends who loved and admired him very much.

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding" (Proverbs 3:5) was a favorite Bible verse of John's.

REMEMBER
Unattributed

To the living I am gone,
To the sorrowful I will never return,
To the angry I was cheated.
But to the happy I am at peace,
And to the faithful I have never left.
I cannot speak, but I can listen.
I cannot be seen, but I can be heard.
So as you stand upon a shore
Gazing at a beautiful sea,
Remember me.
As you look upon a flower
And admire its simplicity,
Remember me.
Remember me in your hearts,
Your thoughts
And your memories,
Of the times we loved,
The times we cried,
The times we fought,
The times we laughed.
For, if you always think of me,
I will never have gone.
