His grandfather, John Sheppard Daniell had settled before 1850. John Sheppard had come from Monroe County, Mississippi, and took up farming.
On 19 July, 1893, Allen married Margaret Euphemia Daniell, to whom he was wed over 71 years, only her death separating them.
They had 8 children:
Hugh - who lived but five years
Infant daughter who sadly did not live a day
John
Ethel Roberta "Bertie"
Hezekiah C. "Hezzie"
Dorothy D
Jimmie
Curtis Lee.
I remember Allen, my great-grandfather, as a quiet man, whose serious face hid behind it a warm heart. Loving and loyal to his family, Allen was also a devout man, a member of the Church of Christ. He lived to a great age, dying of "old age" at 95, and is missed by those of us left to remember him. (www.findagrave.com contributor Dorothy Varnell (#47048978))
