Funeral services were conducted Tuesday morning for Mrs. Serena Jane Ellison, age 65 years, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Cassie Robertson, of Micola. Services were conducted by Rev. W.M. Duncan. Interment was made in the Mount Zion Cemetery with the German Undertaking Co. in charge.
Mrs. Ellison died Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robertson in Micola, after a short illness from colitis.
Mrs. Ellison was born in Lexington, Tenn., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Hamilton. She was married to Stephen D. Ellison in November 1888. To this union were born 13 children, eight boys and five girls. Nine of her children and her husband preceded her in death.
The survivors are two sons: James Franklin Ellison of Cooter and Thomas Alexander Ellison of Poplar Bluff; two daughters, Mrs. Annie Bell Young of Cooter and Mrs. Cassie Robertson of Micola; five brothers: W.E. Hamilton, J.M. Hamilton, and C.C. Hamilton of Lexington, Tenn., T.B. Hamilton of Holland and three sisters, Mrs. Bell Roberts and Mrs. Ada Franklin of Lexington, Tenn., and Mrs. Sallie Webb, of Oklahoma.
