Civil War Union Army Officer. He was commissioned as a Captain in the 23rd New Jersey Volunteer Infantry on August 26, 1862, and was mustered in as the commander of Company C on September 13, 1862. He served through the December 1862 Battle of Fredericksburg, and resigned his commission on April 13, 1863.
