NELLIE LETITIA DAVENPORT
Nellie "Nell" Letitia Davenport, 96, of Crossville, passed away Aug. 24,
2000. Funeral services were conducted Aug. 26 at the Grassy Cove United
Methodist Church, with burial in Grassy Cove Cemetery. The Rev. Fay Tucker
and the Rev. Bratton Tucker officiated, with special music by Georganna
Upshaw.
Mrs. Davenport was born June 4, 1904, in Crossville, the daughter of Mark
Sherman and Mary Clarissa Ford Bristow.
She was a homemaker, and a member of Grassy Cove United Methodist Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Willette Torian of Ocala, FL, Clara
Simpson of Farragut, TN, Elizabeth Hollingsworth of Crossville and JoAnn
Baltimore of Atlanta, GA; son, James Davenport of Crossville; nine
grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Davenport.
Pallbearers were Joe Simpson, Jim Simpson, Mark Robbins, Ricky DeRossett,
Mike Waters, Rick Gulley, Bob Greene and Douglas Torian.
Bilbrey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
