Mary Ann Easter, daughter of Adam and Eleanor Easter, was born in Coshocton, Coshocton County, Ohio, Dec. 11, 1854. She came to Kansas with her parents, and they settled on a homestead in Jewell County, Kansas, where she spent her early girlhood. It was while working in the home of Rev. Phillips of Beloit, Kansas, that she met Olney Disney. On April 10, 1875, she was married to Mr. Disney at Beloit. They settled on a homestead two miles east of Delphos, where they endured the hardships of early pioneer life. The first five years they lived in a dugout, where their first child was born.

Four daughters came to bless this union: Mrs. Amy Copple, of Delphos, Mrs. Pearl Brock of Minneapolis, Mrs. Carrie Copping of Pasadena, Calif., and Mrs. Verna Johnson, Minneapolis. After the death of her companion in April, 1917, she continued to reside in the old home. In June, 1934, on account of failing health, she came to live with her daughters, Mrs. Pearl Brock and Mrs. Verna Johnson, where she passed peacefully away March 10 at the age of 83 years, two months and 27 days. She was ready and willing to go, and often expressed a desire to do so.

She was a member of the M.E. Church of Delphos, which she attended until her health would not permit.

She was one of a family of twelve children, only two of whom survive her. She leaves to mourn her passing, the four daughters, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two brothers, E.T. Easter, and Chas. Easter, of Randall, Kansas, and a host of friends. One grandson, Olney Marvin Copping, passed away in 1917 at the age of nine years. She lived 59 years on the same farm, and saw all of her girls grow to maturity, marry and find homes of their own.

Funeral services were held Sunday at the M.E. Church in Delphos, conducted by Rev. Fred Blanding of the M.E. Church of Minneapolis, assisted by Rev. McClellan of Delphos. Burial was in Delphos Cemetery.
