ALICE VIOLET SCOTT SEXTON
ALICE VIOLET SCOTT SEXTON, 89 years of age of Grundy, VA passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2004 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home, Grundy, VA. Born in Buchanan County April 29, 1914 she was the daughter of the late Harry Scott and Martha Osborne Scott. She was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County, a member of Vansant Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three sisters: Daisy Fletcher, Mary Matney and Gay Short and one brother: John B. Scott.

She is survived by her former husband: Hurbert Lee Sexton of Bristol, VA; two sons: Jerry Sexton and Junior Sexton both of Vansant, VA; three grandsons: Terry Dean Sexton, Jeff Sexton and Shannon Sexton and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Alice Violet Scott Sexton will be held Saturday, April 10, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel, Grundy, VA with Evangelist Michael Trent and Evangelist Mike Rife officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, VA.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home after 6:00 p.m. Friday evening. Services will be held at 7:00 p.m.

Active Pallbearers will be Brandon Sexton, Shannon Sexton, Jeff Sexton, Mark Fletcher, Harry Scott, Pollard Short, Sonny Matney and Terry Dean Sexton. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. J. G. Patel, Nursing Staff of Heritage Hall Nursing Home, Ellis Matney, James Arrington, John Short, Dave Short, Bill Scott, Johnny Scott, James Fletcher and Frank Matney.
