A 21-year-old woman shot May 8 died Friday in Emanuel Hospital, and police said Saturday her suspected assailant would be charged with murder.
Patricia Gibbs, 21, was shot Monday along with a girlfriend after an argument at 10 N.E. Farragut St. Bryant Wade Storey, 18, was charged with two counts of assault after the shooting. Sgt. John Giani of the Portland police said Storey would now be charged with murder. He said Storey, who was in jail, probably will be arraigned Monday on the new charge. The second victim, was released from Emanuel Hospital Thursday.
According to the police reports, the three had been arguing about broken windows in Storey's car. Several shots were fired from a .22-caliber pistol. Miss Gibbs was wounded in the chest.
