JOHN BUCK DIED SATURDAY
Had Resided in County Since Year 1897

Funeral services for John Buck, who passed away rather suddenly in the St. Francis Hospital at Breckenridge Saturday, Oct. 21st at 2:20 PM, were held in Immanuel Lutheran Church of this city, the Rev. G. C. Michael being in charge of the services. Interment was in the congregation's cemetery north of town.

John Buck was born June 30, 1871, to Clements Buck and his wife, Hannah, nee Dreyer at Cedarburg, WI. He spent his early years there coining to Dakota in 1897. He was married April 5, 1900 to Alvina Medenwaldt at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Belford Township, Rev. Hilgendorf officiating at the wedding. This union was blessed with three daughters and two sons, all of whom are living except Adela, who was married to Arnold Bladow and died in 1931.

Mr. Buck's passing is mourned by his widow, his daughters, Mrs. Wesley Gowin of Fairmount, and Bertha, Mrs. John F. Muehler of Fairmount, and by his sons, Clemens and Frederick, both of Fairmount, as well as by his fifteen grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Herman of Waukesha, WI., Henry of Colgate, WI., and August of Fairmount, and by his sisters, Mrs. Bertha Drosee of Menominee Falls, WI., and Miss Margaret Buck of Colgate, WI.

John Buck was one of the charter members of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church of Hankinson, helping with the organization more than forty years ago. He was the second last one, Albert Medenwaldt being the only one left now. Although Mr. Buck had been ailing somewhat in health, his passing came rather suddenly, as he apparently was on the road to recovery after a few days' stay in the hospital.

Mr. Buck made his home in LaMars Township all these years.
