Michael J Baker, beloved husband, father, grandpa & great-grandpa passed away October 19, 2012 in Colorado Springs, CO. He was born in Grand Island, NE on February 11, 1939 to Carroll and Lucille Baker. He grew up in Grand Island and graduated from Grand Island HS in 1957. On September 3rd 1960 he married his high school sweetheart Jane C. Wolcott. He served in the Air Force and the young couple found themselves in Austin, Texas. After that they went back to Nebraska. Over the years the lived many places and finally landed in Colorado in 1991. They had fallen in love with Colorado while on their honeymoon. They opened Picture Perfect frame shop in Manitou Springs, which later became Fountain Creek Frame Shop. Michael was very involved in Kiwanis Club, and played Santa Claus for many years. He made many dear friends through the work that he did and his involvement in his community. He was Business Person of the year in 2000. He is survived by his loving wife, Jane, 3 daughters, Becky, Sarah and Amy, 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and older brother Warren. Memorial service to held at Chapel of Our Savior, 8 Fourth Street, Colorado Springs, 10:00 am, Thursday, October 25th. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made.
