Article in the Family Bible:
John Dearduff of 519 E. Edward Street, well known carpenter and contractor of Litchfield, suffered a stroke of paralysis Saturday and is confined to his home where it is said his condition is serious. He is in a state of coma and no one is permitted to see him.

Several months ago, while operating a band saw in his plaining mill, one hand was caught in the saw and four fingers were amputated. The wound never healed properly and is believed his present condition is due to that injury.

He is very well known throughout the Litchfield district both as a contractor and as an agent for the Durant and Star Automobile. His condition has remained practically unchanged since his collapse Saturday.
