1st husband George Washington Rowlee
2nd husband Jasper Newton Rowlee
Mrs. Sarah Rowlee, wife of Jasper N. Rowlee, aged 71 years, died suddenly at her home at 12:30 Friday noon, of pneumonia. She had been confined to the house since Christmas by illness, but was much better, when she suffered a relapse, and pneumonia developed.
She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Lewis Ives of Volney; three sons, George of Niles, Mich., Prof W. W. Rowlee of Ithaca, and Delos of Volney; one sister, Mrs. Hannah Austin of South Granby, and one brother, E.
Delos Distin of Volney, all of whom were present at the funeral.
Funeral services were held in Mt. Pleasant church at 1 p.m., Rev. T. J. Williams officiating. Interment was
made at Mt. Pleasant, the three sons, and son-in-law bearing the remains to the last resting place. Mrs. Rowlee was born within a mile of her home on the Delos Distin farm, and has always resided here. Her smiles and kind words were familiar to everyone in his community. She was a friend to everybody, and befriended by all who knew her. The influence of her beautiful Christian life will always live. Great sympathy is extended to the bereaved family, and was partially expressed by the beautiful floral pieces sent, also as evidence of the high esteem in which the deceased was held. She was a member of the several societies connected with Mt. Pleasant Church and had taught a class in the Sunday school for many years. It is safe to say that no person in this vicinity was more beloved or would be more greatly missed.
