They lost a son, John Pierce, at the age of 1 in 1879 and he is buried here at Calvary.
The 1880 census lists James as a saloon keeper on Clybourn Stret, and shows his wife, Ellen, along with sons William, John Joseph, and James, as well as a daughters Mary and Margaret. Margaret, called 'Madge' would one day become the wife of William S. Goodland, Governor of Wisconsin.
James' 1890 death record lists his surname as "Roache" although his family's last name is consistently spelled 'Roche'. A Joseph "Roache" who was the same age as James was buried in this family plot on the same day, so far efforts to identify him have not been productive.
James' wife Ellen remarried another Irishman, Michael Rohan; she is buried in this same plot under that name.
Last known address for both James and Joseph Roache: 602 Clybourn Street, Milwaukee.
