HINTON — Virginia Mae Gwinn, 88, of Hinton, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012.

Arrangements are pending completion at Pivont Funeral Home, Hinton.

Virginia Mae Gwinn, 88 of Hinton died Saturday October 20, 2012 at Summers County A.R.H. in Hinton following a long illness.

Born November 20, 1923 in Hinton, she was the daughter of the late Leo Moorefield and Mary M. Carden Peck.

Ms. Gwinn was a 1941 graduate of Hinton High School. She was a retired clerk for the C&O Railway Company in Hinton and faithful member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Hinton, and a member of the Women of St. Patrick at the parish. She was a lifelong resident of Summers County.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry S. Gwinn. Also preceded by a brother, Harry G. Peck and a step-son, Kyle Gwinn.

Survivors include a sister, Jeanne Peck Hazel & husband Jack of St. Charles, IL. One nephew, Harry G. Peck of North Carolina and one niece, Virginia Richmond of Alabama. A sister-in-law, Betty Peck of Alabama.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday October 26, 2012 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Hinton with Fr. Bonaventure Lussier as celebrant.

Rite of Committal will follow in Restwood Memorial Gardens in Hinton. Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday evening at Pivont Funeral Home in Hinton, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.

Men of St. Patrick Catholic Church will serve as pallbearers.
