Dear son and daughter I received your letter dated the [7th] of the present month which I received on the 18th, which found me well in health but still [diseased?] in mind it does look like that I can't get reconciled to the loss of my companion although I know that is the will of our lovely Father to take her from me, and take her out of her sufferings, for I know that she has suffer[ed] twenty deaths almost since she was mine. I feel to thank the Lord that I [am enjoying?] good health at this time and I hope that these few lines may find you all well in health and enjoying the blessing of our God. I was glad to learn from your letter that you [...] all well, only your little one and that was only a sour month. You wrote to me to come [a [mediately -- immediately] to see you, but I will say to you that I can't come just yet. I wish to build a brick wall around your mother's grave and I can't do it till the weather does [moderate?] some. I can't leave it [staning nicked] in the open [?] for the grave yard is not [pailed] in, but as soon as I get that done I will come if the lord will permit me I will say to you Thaddeus is a going to school and can't come till his time is out. I am staying with William and [Rhoday?] in Woodburn and all are all well and desire to send their love and respects to you all.
