Mary was born (year does not agree with that on stone) when her parents were living on Fourth Street in Taunton.

Struck by a skidding automobile as she crossed Washington Street, near East Broadway at 5:30 Wednesday afternoon, Miss Mary McGann, 65, of 9 Coram Street, died at Morton Hospital today. Miss McGann was hurt in one of two Christmas Eve accidents. In the other, three persons reported minor injuries, while Christmas Day, two persons were injured in a rear end collision of two automobiles on Broadway at St. Mary's Square. Edgar A. Kaloust, 5 Wilbur Street, operator of the automobile that struck Miss McGann, told police who assisted him in removing her to the hospital, that his vehicle struck the woman when it skidded as he attempted to avoid the accident. Kaloust reported he was driving north on Washington Street when he saw the woman crossing from the right to the left. He said he applied the brakes hard, but the automobile skidded. State Motor Vehicle Inspector Richard B. O'Connor, who was investigating the accident today, made an appeal to the operator of an automobile which was following the car which struck Miss McGann to report to his office.
