He made many contributions to the University of Arizona, working with students & alumni. During college he played trumpet in the UA band, was a member of the Chain Gang Honorary for juniors and the Bobcats, a senior honorary group, student body president from 1981-1982. He was a master at getting things done with people, the administration and the faculty.
He was a man who was loved by all who knew him. Richard is survived by his father, Richard T. Garcia, his mother, Anna, brother, Martin, and sister, Roseanna.
