This marriage took place on December 23, 1955, in Rossville, Georgia; and would bring forth four children - Floyd Hixon Jr., Alvie Clyde, Rhonda Kay (Gamble), and Laura Janine (Rigstad).
Hixon was a salesman/businessman as well as a building contractor, plummer, and electrician.
Hixon later married Mary Sue Sampson Bryant.
He passed away unexpectedly from a heart-attack at his home in Bryant, Alabama.

BRYANT, Ala. - Floyd Hixon McKenzie, Sr., 60, of Bryant, died Thursday at his home.
Self-employed and licensed as an electrician and plumber, he was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvie C. and Lois McAdams McKenzie, and a brother, Clyde McKenzie.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Sue McKenzie, Bryant; two daughters, Rhonda Gamble, Higdon, Ala., and Janine Hartman, Wildwood, Ga.; three sons, Jerry D. Coleman, Scottsboro, Ala., Floyd McKenzie Jr., Higdon, and Alvie McKenzie, Flat Rock, Ala; three stepchildren, Kenny and Phillip Bryant, both of Bryant, and Vicki Bryant, Chattanooga; four sisters, Sharon Howell, Henagar, Ala., Jewell Shelbourn, Valley Head, Ala., Virginia Bray, Henager, and Joan Talley, Arab, Ala.; five brothers, Marcell, Gary and Allen McKenzie, all of Valley Head, Dean McKenzie, Henagar, Grover McKenzie, Virginia Beach, Va.; seven grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Ryan Funeral Home in Trenton, Ga., with the Rev. David Jones officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.
