BOWERS - Arthur A., 57, 1158 Boyd Ave., died April 4, 1970, in Johnstown. Born May 21, 1912, in Johnstown, son of late Michael C. and Annie (Dopher) Bowers. Preceded in death by four brothers - William C., Michael C., Robert M. and Earl H. Survived by widow, former Louise Hansen, and son, Thomas married to former Sandra Koch, rear 1154 Boyd Ave.; also brother, James, Belmont Homes, and sister, Edna, wife of Wilbert Wehn, Cleveland, Ohio. Was engineer's assistant for Pennsylvania Highways Department and veteran of World War II. Member of First Lutheran Church; Conemaugh Valley Lodge 692, F. & A.M.; Portage Royal Arch Chapter 195; Cambria Council 32. Royal and Select Masters; Oriental Commandery 61, Knights Templar; Jaffa Shrine; and Allegheny Mountain Forest 127, Tall Cedars of Lebanon. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at The Picking - Treece - Bennett Mortuary, Somerset Street, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, the Rev. Dr. Walden M. Holl. Interment, Grandview Cemetery.
