THELMA L. BEAM Of Folsom, California, 07/13/1920 – 10/02/2012

Thelma Lena Beam, 92, passed away peacefully with her family nearby, after a long illness, on Tuesday at her home in Folsom, CA. She was born in Los Angeles, CA to Lena (Bartels) and Charles S. Hart. She grew up in Ceres, CA where she married Carl M. Beam of Ceres, in 1938 and they made their home in Stockton and later, Manteca. Carl passed away in 1993. They raised two loving children, who survive them: Edith M. Ramsey of Folsom and Raymond E. Beam of Sacramento. In the 1940's, Thelma worked as a retail clerk at Rexall Drug Store in downtown Stockton. Thelma was an avid volunteer. She was active in her church, Grace United Methodist Church of Stockton, until her passing. She gave generously to many charitable causes. The embroidery work she produced for her church was a life-long passion. For many years she was in charge of organizing her church's annual autumn boutique and dinner. While living in Manteca, she volunteered to manage the hospital gift shop at Doctor's Hospital, and later, St. Dominic's Hospital.

She leaves behind a loving sister, Helen Kavanagh of, Rockland, MA and her only brother, Franklin Bartels, of Tulare, CA, a World War II veteran of the Air Force. She was devoted to and proud of her four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.

Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. with funeral services at 1 p.m. on Sunday, October 7, 2012 in Evergreen Chapel, Cherokee Memorial Park, Hwy 99 & Harney Lane, Lodi, CA with interment immediately following.
