EL CAMPO - Willie Charles Dettling, 85 of El Campo, died on October 17, 2012. He was born on November 10, 1926 in El Campo to the late Charles and Helen Gabriel Dettling. He was employed by Haliburton for 35 years before retiring in 1986. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of the American Legion Post 251 and Knight's of Columbus Council 2490.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy Dettling of El Campo, daughters Patricia Briscoe and husband Bill of Weimer, Nancy Moore and husband Curtis of Magnolia, grandchildren Corey Briscoe, Tyson Briscoe, Hannah Pilat, great grandchildren Ryan, Matthew, Dylan, Darriona, Jac'ic, Samaya, Kayden and Parker. His parents, sister Mary Erdelt, brothers Frank, Vince, John, Mike, Anton and Charles Dettling Jr. preceded him in death.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 1 pm until 7 pm at Triska Funeral Home. A KC Rosary will be recited at 9:30 am on Monday, October 22, 2012, at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will follow at the Church at 10 am with Rev. Gary Janak officiating. Entombment will follow at the Holy Cross Memorial Park with Military Honors under the auspices of American Legion Post 251.

Pallbearers are Chris Dettling, Corey Briscoe, Tyson Briscoe, Brentyn Pilat, John Dettling, Jr. and Tony Dettling.

Memorial donations in his memory may be made to St. Philip's Church Building Fund.
