Laura Enghausen, age 92, of Elgin, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2002 at Sherman Hospital in Elgin. She was born on January 24, 1910 in Elgin to William and Molly (Kind) Schmidt. Laura lived in Elgin all of her life as a homemaker. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ. Survivors include her brother, Rein (Lorraine) Schmidt of Elgin; her cousin; Eleanor Kosterman of Elgin; and nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer Enghausen whom she married in 1938 and who preceded her in 1974; her son, Sonny at age 3 years; and her brother, William Schmidt. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 22, 2002 at 11:00a.m. at Wait Ross Allanson, Elgin Chapel. Rev. Thomas O'Connor will officiate. Interment to follow at Bluff City Cemetery. Visitation will be at 10:00a.m. on Friday until time of services at 11:00a.m. Please omit flowers with memorials to St. Pauls Building Fund.
