Son of Amos Henry and Elizabeth (Smith) Aigler. According to Civil War headstone purchase files for Union soldiers, James was buried in the Flat Rock Cemetery. He had served with Co. I, 169 Infantry Regiment Ohio from 15 May - 04 Sept 1864. He was mustered out at Camp Cleveland, OH.
