Frank Lewis McAlpin

Son of Ethel G. Savirgear and Ralph S. McAlpin born at Benton City, WA Marrch 12, 1918. He was the youngest of five siblings with 2 brothers
George (Helen) and Maurice (Janette) and 2 sisters Gertrude (Floyd) Holmes and sister Ellen all of whom proceeded him in death. He also was preceded in death by his grandson Shawn Alexander.

Frank was a quiet and gentle man. He spent most of his life in and around the Yakima Valley. He was a carpenter in his early days. He got shot at when the Japanese attacked Alaska while working as a civilian contractor for the military. Frank was in the Army and the National Guard near the end of WWII.

He married in 1947 and became an instant father to Sharon Alexander and David Cooley. He taught us to work and was a good example.

He was dearly loved by ten grand children David (Debbie), Susan, Kelli (Doug), and Shawn, and Michael (Lisa), Chris (Betsy), Steve, Greg (Lisa), Kathy (Joe) and Ken (Amy). He was also a beloved great grandfather to 12 great grandsons and 5 great grand daughters and 1 great great grandson.

Frank spent many years working at Hanford. He was a member of the LDS Church.

There will be a viewing at Einan's funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00PM on Tuesday February 2, 2010.Funeral services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Keene Road in West Richland at 2:00P.M. on February 3, 2010.

The family asks that memorials be made to the charity of your choice.
