---Rev. A. H. Sargent, pastor of the Presbyterian Church at Macon, died suddenly at his home there early Friday morning.
---Funeral services were held Sunday morning at 10:00 at the church where he ministered by Rev. Ralph Waggoner of Sedalia. Burial was in Higginsville, Missouri.
---Mr. Sargent was born January 16, 1880 in Canterbury, New Hampshire and was a graduate of Newton College and Gordon School of Theology and Missions, both in Boston, Massachusetts. He did graduate work at Princeton University.
---During the first World War the deceased gave up his position with the New England Evangelistic Association to serve with the YMCA, having charge of the Board of Embarkation in New York.
---After the war, Mrs. Sargent went to the southern states where he was affiliated with the Inter-world Church movement and following that, was a general evangelist for the Senate of Louisiana Presbyterian Church, United States of America.
---He was married to Miss Margaret Lake of Higginsville, June 1, 1927 and has held pastorates in Liberty, Lees Summitt, St. Joseph, Cameron, Trenton and Chillicothe before coming to Macon five years ago. In this county, Mr. Sargent made many friends. He was active in civic affairs, being a member of the Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, Masonic Lodge and the Ministerial Alliance.
---He is survived by his wife and six children by a former marriage. The children are Lee E. Sargent and Mrs. Fannie Sheppard of Franklin, New York, Mrs. Ruth Simon of New London, New Hampshire, Mrs. Marion Bonnain of Owosso, Michigan, Donald Sargent of Chicago, Illinois and Harold Sargent of New Orleans, Louisiana.
