OBITUARY:
*********
Tabitha Angeline Libbey passed from mortal scenes and associations at New London, Connecticut, on September 24, 1924.
Tabitha came west at the age of seventeen. She spent several years in Winneshiek county, where she taught school and then came to Fayette to attend college. Here she met Oscar Clement Cole, and was united to him in marriage.
Mrs. Cole was one whose realm was the home, and her activities were those of wife and mother. Her interests and sympathies were always keen and alert in the aspects of friendship and neighborliness and those who knew her best loved her. Almost all of her married life was spent at Fayete.
Mrs. Cole's health had been impaired since a very serious illness four years ago, since which time her decline had been very perceptible. The final illness was in the nature of a severe cold, followed by weak heart action and the end came after but three days' sickness.
The remains were brought to Fayette, accompanied by her daughter, Erma.
Interment in Grandview cemetery.
