Born in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of Alice and Francis Clyde.
She is survived by her daughters, Alice Moore Milewski (Richard), Scotia, Margaret Moore Triolo, (William), Milford; her son, Clayton L. Moore Jr. (Susan), Ithaca; and a stepson, Wallace M. Rich (Doris), Hobart; as well as by eight grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
Helen was predeceased by husbands Clayton L. Moore and Wallace H. Rich.
Helen graduated from SUNY Albany with a degree in English. She dedicated her professional life to working with young people, as a teacher in a one-room school in Hoosic and as the senior high school English teacher and faculty adviser in the South Kortright Central School System.
Helen was a member of the Hobart Presbyterian Church and several community groups.
Internment will be held at the Locust Hill Cemetery, Hobart, at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, with the Rev. Bert More officiating. A memorial service will be held on the same date at 2 p.m. at the Hobart Presbyterian Church. Family and friends are cordially invited. A reception will immediately follow in the church.
There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Leatherstocking Region Office, Health Center, Room 113, 243 Chestnut St., Oneonta, NY 13820 or the Humane Society, Delhi, NY 13753.
