CAREY - Versie Brodman, 468 N. Sandusky Ave., died in the Intensive Care Unit at Wyandot Memorial Hospital at 10:49 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003. She was 69. Born in Salyersville, Ky., on March 11, 1934, she was a daughter of Charlie and Della (Carty) Craft. She married Robert Young in 1961. He died in 1978. She then married David Brodman in 1980. He died in 1996.

Surviving are a son, Robert Young, Placentia, Calif.; a daughter, Tammy Meeker, Upper Sandusky; three grandchildren, Kristin and Alicia Young and Kurtis Meeker; and a sister, Rosemary Osborn, Upper Sandusky. She was preceded in death by eight brothers, Ellis, Milton, Luther and Grover Craft; and four infants; and a sister, Mabel Walters. Mrs. Brodman was a baby sitter for many children in the area and worked at Kimmel Cleaners for 13 years. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Brodman was a member of the Eagles Club and VFW Post No. 2842 auxiliaries, and of the Tiffin Moose Lodge. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey, with the Rev. Charles Steward officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation is at the funeral home from 12-2 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the organization of the donor's choice in care of Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, 225 W. Findlay St., Carey OH 43316.
