He was born April 27, 1925 in Fredonia, a son of the late Harry and Erna (Frendt) Bileske.
He had 38 1/2 years of service with the government, which included three years and two months during World War II with the 4th division of the US Marine Corps.
He worked for the Fredonia Post Office for 34 1/2 years and retired as postmaster. After retiring, he moved to New Port Richey, Fla. with his wife Doris where he lived for 22 1/2 years before moving to Estero for the last year and a half. He also maintained a summer residence in Bournes Beach in Westfield.
He was past member of the National Association of Postmasters, the New York Postmasters, a life member of the 4th Marine Division, the National Association of Federal Employees and Florida Chapter 583.
He was a life member of the Fire Chiefs Association, past member of the Fredonia Fire Department for 29 years and fire chief there from 1958 to 1960. He was also a past member of the Rotary Club, the Honorable order of the Kentucky Colonels, the American Legion, VFW and First Ward Falcons. Mr. Bileske recieved the Navy Letter of Commendation for military action against the enemy at Spain during World War II.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years Doris (Ludemann) Bileske; two daughters, Lynne Mittler of Loveland, Ohio and Janet Ingham of Fort Myers; and four grandchildren.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by a son, Robert J. Bileske Jr. and a sister, Dolores Bennett.
