Paul H Scouten, 74, Spartansburg, died Tuesday at Western Reserve Home in Erie. He was born in Sparta Twp, June 6, 1906, a son of the late Emmett and Nellie Sherlock Scouten. Raised and educated in Sparta Twp, he was a local farmer for many years and for a time also trucked cattle. He moved to Spartansburg in 1976 after a lifetime on the family farm. He was a member of Sparta Grange and Union City Moose Club. Survivors include his widow, to whom he had been married 33 years, Helen Blakeslee Scouten; a brother, Elbert Scouten of Spartansburg; and a sister, Mrs Merle (Jennie) Smith of Guys Mills. Friends may call at the Bracken Funeral Home, Spartansburg...Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Spartansburg.
