Mary Ceal Allen, 73, of San Bernardino, Calif., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006, in San Bernardino following an extended illness.
She was a native of Hawthorne, but resided in San Bernardino for the past 25 years, coming from Palatka. She attended Central Academy High School and Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church in Palatka. She was a licensed beautician in Palatka for many years.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Isaac and Ida Mae Hill; husbands, Johnnie Baker Sr. and Willie Allen; brothers, William Brightmon Sr, Bert Hill and Charles Hill, and sisters, Louise Hill, Rosina Hill and Bertha Davis.
Survivors are her sons, Johnnie (Angela) Baker Jr. of Los Angeles and Jamie Allen of Las Vegas; daughters, Sharon Wallace of Rialto, Calif., and Dorothy Jones and Sonja Hamilton, both of Palatka; sister, Eva Hill (Nathaniel) Blue of Los Angeles; brothers, Isaac (Era) Hill of Sun City, Calif., Henry (Mattie) Hill of Compton, Calif., James (Grace) Hill of Perris, Calif. and Clarence Bunch and Samuel (Olivia) Nelson, all of Palatka; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and endearing friends.
Visitation hours will be from 5:30-9 p.m. Friday, and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, at D. A. Boys & Sons funeral Home in Palatka. Funeral services will be held at Oak Hill West Cemetery. (Palatka Daily News Obituary dtd 17 Nov 2006.)
