Oregon R. Benson, 67, died Friday afternoon, Dec. 3, at his home at White Stone after an illness of several weeks. Mr. Benson had served as chairman of the Lancaster County Welfare Board since it's organization in July 1938. Mr. Benson was born in Anne Arundel County, MD and spent most of his life in that state. In 1926 he came to Lancaster County where he had made his home since that time. He is survived by his wife, Annie L. Benson, one daughter, Mrs. F. G. Farinholt of Baltimore. The remains were taken to Anne Arundel County where funeral services were held Monday with interment in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The Northern Neck News - Dec. 17, 1943
