Joyce E. Rees, 64, of Lafayette, IN, died in her home at 11:23 AM Saturday, October 27, 2012.
She was born April 7, 1948, in Crawfordsville, to the late Hubert and surviving Esther Hamm of Romney.
Joyce married Joseph Rees on July 10, 1971 in Romney.
A 1966 graduate of Southwestern High School, she worked as the office manager for Norman Beutler Insurance since 1983.
A deeply principled and loyal woman, loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt, Joyce was an avid fan of Purdue Athletics and the St. Louis Cardinals. She collected Boyd's Bears and jewelry, and enjoyed yard work and housework. She was a member of the Eagles Lodge Ladies Auxiliary and also enjoyed the monthly nights out she had with her high school classmates.
Surviving is the husband, Joseph Rees, Lafayette; son, Joseph "J.R." Rees II; wife, Melissa, Of McDonough, Ga.; mother, Esther Hamm, of Romney; sister, Jane Hamm, of Romney; and sister, Rebecca Brickey (husband: Larry), of Lafayette.
Also surviving are many loving nieces and nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be Tuesday, 5 to 8 p.m., October 30, 2012, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. Funeral Service Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel; Chaplain Barb Loft officiating.
Burial will be at Meadow View Cemetery.
