Courier News (Elgin, IL) October 29, 2004 > Narma Poplin, (nee Alsup) 72, of Carpentersville, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2004 in Northwest Community Hospital, Arlington Heights, IL. She was born December 17, 1930 in Mississippi Co, AR, She married Troy Poplin on April 17, 1949 and they had resided in Carpentersville, IL. since 1964. She was a machinist and packager for Polyshape Converter in Gilberts, IL. for 21 years, retiring in 1997. She was the daughter of Levi Jackson "Jack" Alsup and Edna Louisa Beaury. Survivors include her husband, Troy; her children, Diane (Mike) Taul, of Phoenix, AZ, Christine (Darrell) Schults, of Hampshire, IL, Patsy (Tim) Johnson, of Oroville, CA, Karen (John) Cornwell, of Genoa, IL, Troy Eugene Poplin, of Kirkland, IL, Daryl (Sheila) Poplin, of Carpentersville, Petrilla (Jim) Higgin, of Phoenix, AZ, Mattie (Roger) Zelker, of Carpentersville, IL, and Carter (Docia) Poplin, of Union, IL. 24 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; three brothers, Warren Alsup, Wayne Alsup and Richard Alsup; two sisters, Margaret Vickery and Eva Bowling; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Wilber and Ernest Alsup; and two sisters, Luella Colbenson and Edith Alsup. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 1, 2004 in Windridge Funeral Home, 104 High Rd., Cary, IL. Burial will be in Windridge Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday, October 31, 2004 in the funeral home. 847-639-2191.
