Mrs. W.A. BEANE, Goshen Pioneer Resident Dead

Injury Sustained last Monday in fall hastens death Was Widow of William A. Beane, for many years Editor of the Goshen Democrat.

Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Beane, 88 years old, a pioneer resident of Elkhart county,died this morning shortly before ten o'clock at her home,410 East Purl street, as the result of complications following a fall last Monday morning in which she sustained a fracture of the left hip.

Mrs. Beane was the widow of the late William A. Beane, who died 32 years ago and who for more then 40 years was connected with the Goshen Democrat, the greater part of that time was editor and proprietor.

Mrs. Beane for 65 years had been a member of the First Baptist church of Goshen. Until her fall, she enjoyed good health most of the time and maintained a remarkable interest in public affairs.

Surviving are six children; Mattie A. Geddes, Los Anglese, Calif.; Frank W. and Charles E. Beane, Salt Lake City, Utah; Mrs. Lincoln J. Carter and Joseph A. Beane, Goshen, and Mrs. Lucy D. Bullock, Jacksonville Fla.; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral servies will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the home, the Rev. LeRoy H. Ellis of the First Baptist church officating. Burial in Oak Ridge cemetery.
