Charles R. Beaumont, 85, of Claremont, CA, passed on February 14, 2007 due to complications related to cancer.

Born on March 15, 1921 in Baltimore, Charlie received his degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Maryland where he met his wife. He married Sibyl Greenleaf and they remained happily married for 58 years.

They had four children, Charles G. Beaumont, preceded in death in 1968, Sharon "Shon" Wellborn of Garberville, CA, James Beaumont of Sammamish, WA, and William Beaumont of Calimesa, CA. He leaves five granddaughters Lori, Sarah, Katie, Claire and Nicole.

In 1942, Beaumont enlisted in the Army Air Corp, selecting Air Force when the services split and served in WW II with tours in both India and England. He retired as a Lt. Col. after 26 years, obtained his realtor's license and retired from Coldwell Banker as Vice President and branch manager of the Claremont office after 20 years.

He served as Master of the Claremont Masonic Lodge #436 in 1972 and has remained active in both regional Masonic and DeMolay organizations.

He was past Chairman of the Claremont Red Cross and was most recently serving as Disaster Committee Chairman. He was a member of the Claremont University Club, serving on its Finance Committee.
