He was the son of Ray N. and F. Eileen (Kortier) Burkholder. On Oct 20, 1968, he married Diane L. McCarty, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Kimberly S. Kiser, Elida; a brother, Terry R., Scottsdale, AZ; a daughter-in-law, Amanda L. Burkholder; and two grandchildren, Hannah and Alyvia.
Deceased are a son, Staff Sgt. Jason Evan Burkholder; and a brother, Rex L.
He was co-owner of Village Motors and owner of Burkholder Appraisal. He attended Rockport United Methodist Church. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Bluffton and Hidden Creek Golf Courses. He enjoyed cars and was a member of the Glass Society Corvette Club, and he was an avid soccer fan. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the Patriot Guard.
Services will be at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel, with Pastor Rich Rakay officiating.
