Mike served proudly as a medic in the US Army and was assigned to the rank of E-4 before becoming permanently disabled in his early twenties.

He possessed a beautiful, compassionate and tender soul and had much love for his family and friends.

He had fought valiantly against horrible odds and great pain in the last two years of his life, and endured much suffering in order to stay among his treasured family in the last year.

Mike left behind his beautiful, loving wife, Deanna Carolina; devoted sons, John, Mike and Robert; sisters, Shirley Clingman, Susan Ducato and Mary (Andrea) Derifield; nieces Renee Vanlingen, Mia Koehler Fenner and Jamie Ducato; nephews Danny Lemons, Michael Clingman, Jesse Koehler, Austin Acosta and Jeffrey Ducato; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and many others who were blessed by his presence in their lives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Joan; older siblings, Pamela Lemons and Charles (Buzz) Derifield; nephew, Bobby Pearson Clingman, and grandparents, Margaret and Ott Stafford and Lawrence and Kathryn Derifield.

God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. - (1 John iv:16)
