Mrs. M. Arlene Watkins, 84, of Lake City, passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at the Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City. She was born in White Haven, PA in 1927 to the late Robert L. Yohey and Mildred Driggs Yohey. Arlene, as she was known by her family and friends, graduated from White Haven High School and the Jefferson School of Nursing as a Cadet Nurse. Mrs. Watkins had lived in Lake City since 1977 having moved from North Miami, FL. She had a loving spirit that attracted people to her life and was best described as a mom to all. Mrs. Watkins was of the Lutheran faith and worked as a Registered Nurse until her retirement from the VA Medical Center in Lake City. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, George A. Watkins, in 2008, one brother, Robert "Bob" Yohey in 2008, two grandsons, Jason Watkins in 1996 and James "Jimmy" Wilkinson in 2009.

Survivors include her son, Alan (Nancy) Watkins, Palatka; her daughter and son in law, Kathy and Jim Wilkinson, Lake City; her sis, Kail Yohey, White Haven, PA; one grandson, Michael A. Wilkinson, Lake City; three great grandchildren, Alex, Kolby and Jaylynn Wilkinson, all of Lake City; and extended family, Larry and Maggie Watkins, Lake City.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, November 2, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Rev. Warren Godsmark and Rev. James Williamson officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
