Walter E. Fullmer III, 69, of Cogan Station, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at The Gatehouse of Divine Providence Hospital.
Born Sept. 30, 1943, in Williamsport, he was the son of the late Walter Jr. and Ruby Fenderson Fullmer. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra D. Dieffenbacher.
Walter was a 1961 graduate of Williamsport High School and received his bachelor's degree from Lycoming College and master's degree in biology from Bloomsburg University. He was a biology teacher at Williamsport Area High School for 30 years.
He was a member of the Church of the Savior, Lutheran, the Blooming Grove Historical Society, Lycoming County Historical Society, Lycoming County Genealogical Society and American Sons of the Revolution. He was an avid collector of local memorabilia and was co-owner with his wife of Fullmer's Schoolhouse Antiques. Walter also had strong love for horseback trail riding, the driving of horses, and he was a member of the Carriage Association of America.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Ely Fullmer, with whom he shared 44 years of marriage; his daughter, Michele Lynn (Michael) Harter of Middletown; and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Lee Harter.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Sanders Mortuary.
