Carlton Ray Privott, 63, of the 100 block of Manor Road in Riverton, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004. Mr. Privott was the son of Mrs. Allene Blanchard Privott and the late Robert Carlton Privott. He served our country as a member of the U.S. Navy, was a member of the American Legion Post 40 and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
Surviving other than his mother include his wife, Jeanette Jones Privott; his three daughters, Teresa Cox and her husband Billy of Chesapeake, Va.; Sheila Baker and her husband David of Chesapeake; and Paula Long and her husband Jared of Edenton, N.C.; six grandchildren, Branson Byrum, Taylor Baker, Jacob Byrum, Seth Long, Jordan Byrum and Lindsay Cox; two sisters, Judy Renner of Jacksonville, Fla., and Brenda Braclift and her husband Reid of Elizabeth City, N.C.; two brothers, Robert Fahey Privott of Manteo, N.C., and Martin Lyn Privott of Edenton; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Privott was preceded in death by a brother, Winborne Lee Privott.
A celebration of Mr. Privott's life will be held Wednesday, Nov. 10, with the Revs. Charles Lockwood and Ashby Browder officiating. Burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. You may sign the online register at www.evansfuneralsandcremations.com.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Evans Funeral and Cremations of Edenton is serving the Privott family.
