Louis Adams, Jr., 73, of Mexia, passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at the Methodist Hospital in Mansfield, Texas. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 3, 2012, at Mexia First Assembly of God. Interment will follow at Mexia City Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 2, at Porter Funeral Home.

Louis was born in Avinger, Texas, to Lewis Sr. and Nelena Gertrude Keasler Adams. He served 13 years in the U.S. Army training troups for Jungle and "Mayflower" survival in Panama, Vietnam, Berlin, and the Cuban Missile Crisis. Louis retired as a truck driver for the Army Airforce Exchange Service. He was past VFW 4694 Post Commander, member of the AmVets, Disabled American Veterans, American Legion, NEWS Motorcycle club and member of Mexia First Assembly of God Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Adams Sr.; mother, Nelena Adams Williams; first wife, Patricia Ann Adams in August of 1997; and sisters, Helen Overton and Patricia Adams.

Louis is survived by his wife, Patricia Bea Adams; sons, Daniel Adams and wife, Mary, of Granbury, Robert Adams and wife, Jeannie, of Granbury, and Tony Adams and wife, Debbie, of Mexia; daughter, Terresa Adams, of Ft. Worth; step-daughter, Melissa Easterling and husband, Steve, of Mexia; step-son, Marc Pilkington and wife, Stefanie, of Mexia; grandchildren, Robert Adams, Jr., of Granbury, Jonathan Adams, of Georgia, Caitlin Easterling, of Mexia, Seth White, of Corsicana, Brooklynn Pilkington, of Mexia, Gage Pilkington, of Mexia; five great-grandchildren; special friend and mother-in-law, (Maw) Mary Beard Brown; and many other relatives and numerous friends.
