Christopher Edwin Melcher was born July 23, 1947 in Wichita, Kansas to Cleo E. and Patricia J. (Stoll) Melcher. He passed away October 29, 2012.

Chris grew up in Salina, Kansas, where he attended Sacred Heart High School. He completed his associate degree in criminal studies at Penn Valley Community College and lived most of his adult life in the Kansas City area. He was a life-long passionate supporter of the Kansas City Chiefs. He moved to the Phoenix area for a few years, returning to Kansas City in 2012. Chris worked in law enforcement and security throughout his life. He supported heart health programs and was a certified trainer of CPR.

Mr. Melcher was preceded in death by his parents, his youngest brother, Arnold. Survivors included two sisters, Madelon Scripter and Denise Batchelor; two brothers, Andrew Melcher and Michael Melcher.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Wichita, where he will be buried.
